Metal Furniture
Clean your metal furniture using water, soapy water or a detergent with a neutral PH (5 to 8)
You can use a household items (such as dishes or windows) or a specific product like FERMOB mild multi-purpose cleaner; but don't use solvents, alkaline detergents,
If you're not sure which product to apply, carry out a preliminary test on non-visible and restricted areas to determine compatibility (e.g. under the seat or table top).
Apply with a soft sponge or a white soft cloth. Do not use abrasive products or products which may affect the condition of the surface (abrasive sponges, wire wool, pads, scouring creams or powders, dyed textiles which may leave marks, ..).
Limit the use of a pressure washer and comply with the operational instructions (application
distance, pressure, nozzle type...)
Beware of retention zones in which cleaning products can be trapped, leading to further damage.
Rinse with water and wipe carefully to avoid traces of limescale.
* We strongly advise against the following non-exhaustive list of products; unless appropriately diluted, they could damage our materials: alcohol, isopropanol, petrol, White Spirit, solvents, dissolvents, hydrocarbons, caustic soda, ammonia, alkaline detergents (pH>9), acids, polish, products to remove graffiti, etc.
Teak Furniture
The only wood that is totally rot-proof and naturally resistant to external damage. It protects itself. Teak is used on boat decks, and is the king of woods for outdoors. It requires no maintenance for it to keep its technical characteristics: robustness, longevity and ease of use. Fermob uses teak with a natural finish, used outdoors. Over time it will display a grey patina caused by exposure to water and ultraviolet light. This does not at all affect the teak’s durability. It is your choice whether you wish to prevent this natural process or not.

1. Clean your furniture with a brush and soapy water
2. Sand the teak furniture with sandpaper (grade 240 or 120 depending on how grey it is) in the direction of the wood grain.
Covers
The design, the material and the surface treatment (anti-UV paint and moisture resistance)
allow Fermob furniture to be left outside, in the open air. However you can use the breathable, dirt-resistant protective covers to protect tables from dead leaves, pine sap and bird droppings.
OTF or Thread Furniture
Protect furniture made with Outdoor Technical Fabric (OTF) against damage from sharp tools or heat sources such as cigarettes.
Cleaning
1. Use clean water, soapy water, or Fermob multi-purpose cleaner.
2. Spray or apply with a soft sponge.
3. Rub gently with a soft brush.
4. Rinse with water.
5. Wipe clean.
Very dirty surfaces may require a second application.
Cushioned Furniture
The fabrics used on Fermob furniture are stain, mildew, tear, UV and abrasion resistant. This means that our furniture can be left outdoors without protection.
However, Fermob has designed water-repellent protective covers for some of the cushioned products in our Bellevie collection, to protect the furniture from dead leaves, sap, bird droppings and light weather conditions.
The covers should not be used for winter storage.
Pre-Wash
1. Vacuum your cushion or, if there are any stains, quickly dab them to absorb the liquid with a paper towel, cloth or towel.
2. Clean with a soft brush or sponge using a neutral soap, giving special attention to any stains.
3. When rinsing, raise the furniture up on blocks to allow the water to drain off.
4. Rinse with clean water (do not use a high pressure cleaner, a steam cleaner, dry cleaning or an abrasive liquid).
5. Allow to dry in the open air.
Lamps
Maintenance:
Fermob lamps are high-quality products that require care and attention to keep them operating at their best.
- Charge your lamp in a sheltered spot, protected from bad weather, at a temperature of between 0 and 40°C (32°F and 104°F)
- Clean your lamp regularly
- Only use the charging and power supply equipment provided
- Do not let your lamp’s battery run flat
- Opt for frequent, short-duration charges
Do not submerge electronic products, and limit their exposure to liquids.

- Do not use aggressive chemicals (solvents, alkaline detergents, etc)
- Beware of retention zones in which cleaning products can be trapped, leading to further damage
- Comply with the conditions of use of the products used (dilution, diffusion, application time, etc.)
- Limit the use of high-pressure equipment and comply with the operational instructions (application distance, pressure, nozzle type, temperature, use of chemicals, etc.).
Fabric Accessories
Acrylic Fabric (yarn-dyed / solution dyed):
When treating stains or other marks, pre-clean the fabric with a gentle brush
Machine-wash on a gentle cycle compatible materials, following the recommendations on the label. Prefer 800 RPM spinning and 30° Celsius.
Allow to dry in the open air.
Iron the fabric if necessary.
Cotton Fabric
Machine-wash on a gentle cycle compatible materials, following the recommendations on the label. Prefer 800 RPM spinning.
Allow to dry in the open air.
Iron the fabric if necessary.
Color Mix collection: it is recommended to secure the strap prior to machine washing. Do not iron.
It is advised to bring your cushions inside during bad weather.
Winter Storage
Clean and recondition as necessary:
We advise you to follow the cleaning recommendations for your furniture before winterizing it. If necessary, clean and restore the products (rust remover / paint touch-up)
Wash and store your cushions:
We recommend to wash the covers before storing your cushions inside, away from dust and moisture.
Store furniture indoors for winter if possible:
We recommend storing it over winter in a dry, well-ventilated place where it will be protected from impacts if at all possible.
Stack and fold the furniture if possible:
Stack the stackable furniture; fold up the folding furniture, and store them under cover if possible.
Bring in your lights:
We recommend that you store your lamp with its battery partially charged, in a dry, well-ventilated spot, sheltered from direct sunlight.
Place your table on a block:
If you leave your furniture in the open air, we advise you to place the tables (and other products) on a block to create a slope that allows water to drain away.
Tilt your chairs:
For the same reasons it is recommended to rest your seats against the table rather than placing them upside down on top of them.
Remove all objects from your furniture:
Remove objects that can retain water and moisture (flower pots, trivets etc.). For the same reasons, do not stack the table with the table tops together, or the benches/chairs with the seats together.
Avoid covering your furniture:
It's better to leave your furniture in the open air than to use covers, especially with a non-breathable plastic tarpaulin that will retain moisture creating paint discolouration and stains.
